Aabchand Caves

Aabchand Caves are in Aapchand village in Sagar District of Madhya Pradesh. The caves are near the banks of Gadheri River.[1][2]

History

There are about a dozen rock caves here. These caves are safe in the dense forest area in the river valley. The caves reveal prehistoric human occupation, with the life and daily routine of humans depicted on stones.[3]

Caves and Painting

The largest cave is about 40 feet in length and its walls contain more than a dozen paintings showing rehistoric activities, including hunting scenes representing individuals and groups of hunters. They are equipped with bows and arrows, spears and other weapons. The game animals shown in these paintings, are bison's, bulls, deer antelopes, tiger, boars etc.[4]
