Symbols are just boxes

The kana symbols in the history section are not showing up correctly. They are just boxes. No idea how to fix this. Wikinetman (talk) 09:18, 14 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You need to install a font with the proper Unicode coverage. There are some fallback fonts like Code 2000 that have a ton of coverage, but are pretty simply designed and don't have anything like contextual forms, ligatures, or shaping features. Glyph in prose

We currently have what appears to be a low-quality, hand drawn exemplar of hiragana ye used in an article table: . I have tried to replace it with a typographic glyph of or one of the other options at commons:Category:Hentaigana U+1B001 (E or YE), but have been reverted twice.
