NOTE! (01 FEB 2012)
I'm going on a self-imposed (most-of-the-time) exile for a while, to concentrate on law school. I'm sure that the Trolls, Anti-Intellectuals, Anti-Academics, and the dastardly forces of the Christian Taliban will be happy to hear of this...
NOTE! (26 JAN 2012)
Wow. It seems like Wikipedia is getting even WORSE. As long as the POV Warriors are allowed to run rampant, without fear of reprisal...in a venue where my condescending attitude towards their uneducated, moronic rantings is more closely watched than their anti-academic vandalism...people will continue to chuckle when Wikipedia is brought up as a source for any kind of knowledge. Until you start banning the Trolls...they will always win, because as long as you are defending the site from them every day, they are succeeding.

NOTE! (10 SEP 2011)
It seems painfully clear that Wikipedia will continue to be a "joke" as long as uneducated, anti-intellectual morons are allowed free reign to vandalize articles with their pseudo-historical propaganda...which is no better than Holocaust Denial. Apart from the occasional "sniping" when I get bored, you won't see me much. If you let the imbeciles run free without fear of reproach, you make an enemy of academic scholarship. When you're ready to put on your big-boy pants and start banning the Trolls and tinfoil-hat conspiracy theorists, maybe Wikipedia might be able to be something better than the joke that you've let it become.
INTRODUCTION
I write horror novels and screenplays for a living. I also have ZERO TOLERANCE for people who try to use historical revisionism and Newspeak to attempt to "rehabilitate" the villains of the past, like claiming that the Southern, Right-Wing Democrats of the Ku Klux Klan and Conservative Coalition are in any way representative of Liberalism, or claiming that the Nazis, or Fascists were Liberals, or any other absurd, easily-debunked nonsense that no professional historian would ever write...and if David Barton is a "historian," then I am a Scottish lord.
WIKIPEDIA PHILOSOPHY
Everyone has bias. Everyone is a partisan. Fear not those who wear their partisanship on their sleeve...but rather those who pretend to be dispassionate, while making partisan edits. I firmly believe that all editors should expose their political beliefs, out in the open...rather than hiding behind anonymity and making biased edits. Neutrality is only possible when one recognizes one's own biases, as well as those of the people around him/her. And if you don't understand this...or think that you DON'T have a POV bias...then you are a complete and utter moron, devoid of any intellectual prowess whatsoever. The End. Yes, I mean YOU.
SOME FAVORITE QUOTES
- "The radical of one century is the conservative of the next. The radical invents the views. When he has worn them out, the conservative adopts them." -- Mark Twain
- "If we Hindus dig out all the dirt from the bottom of the Pacific Ocean and throw it in your faces, it will be but a speck compared to what your missionaries have done to our religion and culture”. -- Swami Vivekananda, Parliament of the World’s Religions, 1893
- "It is impossible for me to reconcile myself to the idea of conversion after the style that goes on in India and elsewhere today. It is an error which is perhaps the greatest impediment to the world's progress toward peace. Why should a Christian want to convert a Hindu to Christianity? Why should he not be satisfied if the Hindu is a good or godly man?" -- Mahatma Gandhi
- "I can never join Calvin in addressing his god. He was indeed an Atheist, which I can never be; or rather his religion was Daemonism. If ever man worshipped a false god, he did." -- Thomas Jefferson
- "The more there are riots, the more repressive action will take place, and the more we face the danger of a right-wing takeover and eventually a fascist society." - Martin Luther King, Jr.
- "The Republicans have betrayed us by capitulating to the blatant hypocrisy of Right-Wing reactionary northerners. This coalition of southern Democrats and northern Right-Wing Republicans defeats every proposed bill on civil rights." -- Martin Luther King, Jr.
- “When a Hollywood performer (Ronald Reagan), lacking distinction even as an actor, can become a leading war hawk candidate for the presidency only the irrationalities induced by a war psychosis can explain such a melancholy turn of events.” -- Martin Luther King, Jr. (This quote is from 1967, for the record...)
- Satanism is, "just Ayn Rand's philosophies, with ritual and ceremony added." -- Anton LaVey, founder and High Priest of the Church of Satan (That one's for all the Christian Conservatives who worship the Atheist Ayn Rand...)
- "Regrettably, his hostility better characterizes the rhetoric of ideological rivals like fascism and communism – radical right-wing and radical left-wing, respectively, despite Goldberg's sleight of hand – rather than one end of a democratic spectrum. And you certainly wouldn't know that fascists and communists fought it out on the streets and battlefields for very different ideological doctrines. Instead, reading Liberal Fascism, you might think they rather liked one another." -- Matthew Feldman, Senior Lecturer in 20th century history at the University of Northampton, and Research Fellow at the University of Oxford's Rothermere American Institute
