He is the author of Culture Smart! Mauritius (ISBN 9781857335422), a guide to the culture and customs of Mauritius. He has also written numerous articles for the Institute of Race Relations and Stanfords map and travel bookshop.

Translator

He translates from French to English in the fields of immigration, racism, minorities, linguistics, sociolinguistics, development studies, sociology, history, geography, the arts, travel and tourism. He has a particular interest in the francophone world, especially Mauritius and Rodrigues, the Indian Ocean region, the Maghreb, West Africa, France and Franco-British relations. He has lived in France and also speaks some Mauritian Creole, Spanish, Italian and Arabic.
