The Bangladesh Premier League 2025, also known as BPL Season 11 or Dutch-Bangla Bank Bangladesh Premier League powered-by Rocket co-sponsored by Nexus Pay (for sponsor reason),[1] will be the eleventh season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), a top-level professional Twenty20 cricket league in Bangladesh which is organized by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).[2] The tournament is scheduled to begin on 27 December 2024 and will end on 7 February 2025.
Background
[edit]The 2025 season will clash with the Big Bash League, SA20 and International League T20. There were uncertainties in this season after a change of government in Bangladesh, since a few of the franchises may not be available in this season due to the aftermath of that incident. [3]
In September 2024, the ownership rights of the Dhaka franchise were acquired by Shakib Khan's Remark-Herlan Group.[4] Later on, its name was changed into Dhaka Capitals.[5][6] Comilla Victorians was replaced by Durbar Rajshahi.[7] Chattogram Challengers was renamed as Chittagong Kings.
The players' draft was held on 14 October 2024.[8][9][10][11][12]
