Windows-stub
[edit]Is the {{windows-stub}} only for Microsoft developed programs such as Visual Studio or all programs run on Windows? At the moment, the stub text says, " This Microsoft Windows article is a stub. You can help Wikipedia by expanding it." It's kind of ambiguous. If it's the latter, then it should say Microsoft Windows application article, or something like that. Comments?
- In my opinion, {{windows-stub}} should only apply to articles that cover Windows itself, i.e. technologies, future product versions, built-in applications, history, and so forth. The more generic {{software-stub}} is more accurate for any software product that is not a part of Windows itself. Warrens 01:13, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
- If it is restricted to Windows only, might it then make sense to broaden it a bit to {{Microsoft-software-stub}}, so that things like Microsoft Office Project Server and Microsoft Passport Network (which are already marked with {{windows-stub}}) can fit in the category? That's a bit contrary to {{linux-stub}}, and perhaps wouldn't work for very many other companies, but it still seems like something people are doing already. --Interiot 02:08, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
OS-stub
[edit]I have proposed to add a stub type for operating system stubs---{{OS-stub}}---as a sub type under the present one. See [[WP:WSS/P#{{OS-stub}}]] for the rationale behind the proposal. --Wernher 04:57, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
Hidden category?
[edit]Why is there a hidden category banner at the top of the category page? Why should this cat be hidden? Just wondering. Her Pegship (talk) 17:29, 24 March 2017 (UTC)
