This monument has been built in respect of Narpat Singh, a fade but important name in the pages that depict India's first struggle for independence against the English.
On 15th April 1858, on these very grounds Narpat Singh and his army defeated the English army and killed general Hope and his five lieutenants Douglas, Jennings, Bremley, Billobye and Harrington. Other 55 English Soldiers were also killed
