English: Letter from Robert Stuart to David Leavitt, president of the American Exchange Bank of New York and of of two representative of the subscribers of the $1.6 million loan to complete the Illinois and Michigan Canal. Leavitt Street in Chicago is named for the New York City banker in honor of his efforts.
