Deutsch: Die Mechitaristenkirche im 7. Wiener Gemeindebezirk Neubau.
Ursprünglich war es die Klosterkirche des Kapuzinerklosters "Am Platzl" in der Vorstadt St. Ulrich. Nach Aufhebung des Klosters durch Joseph II. zogen Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts die Mechitaristen ein. Nach einem Großbrand im Jahr 1835 wurde nach Plänen von Josef Georg Kornhäusel das Kloster zum Teil neu errichtet.Die Kirche selbst wurde von 1871 bis 1873 von Fritz Sitte und seinem Sohn Camillo im Stil der Neurenaissance neu errichtet, nachdem die Vorgängerkirche behördlich wegen Baufälligkeit gesperrt worden war. |
