Coronation of Louis VI of France, called the Fat (French: le Gros).

Born around 1080, perhaps near Longpont, Marie was the daughter of a knight, Renaud de Breuillet de Dourdan.[1][2] She had three brothers, two of whom, N.N. de Brueillet and Godefroy de Breuillet became monks of the Longpont Abbey.[3]

At court

She became a mistress of Louis VI of France,[b] until 1104, when she left for a Parisian convent.[3][4] In 1105, Marie gave birth to a daughter, Isabelle de France (1105–1175); married William of Vermandois, seigneur of Chaumont in 1117.[5]
