I seem to have some time on my hands. Looking at the references, the following are WP:GUNREL and must be removed or replaced: refs 3, 4, 20, 62, 72, 110, 129, 132, 164, 174, 185, 193, 195, 232, and 252. I have returned. I will asses this article some more now.

Lead looks good, I’m sure clarification is on the body; third paragraph lacks blue links though (not a requirement).
Early life and high school college is ok for the most part, although I’d clarify on … his father worked as a police officer on the other side of the country (what part of the country?)
An image of Cotton with an NBA jersey on this section would substantially improve the credibility of his professional career.

I have added links to third lead paragraph. Everything in the lead is covered and sourced in the body.
Regarding clarity for "other side of the country", the same source notes reconnecting with his father in New York during his college career in Providence, Rhode Island.
I agree but there are no free images available of him in the NBA.
