CoE/Church
[edit]Changed all 'CoE' to 'Church' or 'The Church' to avoid confusion with the Church of England (CoE) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.208.197.215 (talk) 09:55, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
Why?
[edit]First off, there's no reason to delete the article on the Church. Maybe its website isn't refreshed in a while, but it's active as an organization. There's a recent facebook page that's uploading their texts on spanish (https://www.facebook.com/IglesiadelaEutanasia) and there's a documentary on the make. Anyway, if the Church weren't active anymore, it would deserve an article anyway. It was active years ago and it even appeared on Jerry Springer show, the video of it it's actually online (http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2j1gek).
The family album has a record of performances, too: http://www.churchofeuthanasia.org/family.html
Deleting it should be damn unfair considering that the Church has -or even 'had'- an impact on the real world. Merging it with Rev. Korda's article should be unfair too, because though (s)he started the whole thing, (s)he's not the only member.
It may be an educational foundation or a dada movement or an art collective but why deny people to know about it? Just because some people gets offended? Let's delete Hitler article too, then, and don't stop until anyone isn't offended! Maybe the article needs to be updated, but not deleted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Humanobasura (talk • contribs) 16:53, 20 September 2015
- @Humanobasura: If you would like to weigh in on the ongoing deletion discussion, you can do so at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Church of Euthanasia (2nd nomination). Before you do so, I'd recommend reading WP:Guide to deletion and WP:Notability. The first is an overview of how the deletion process works. The second is the basis on which it was nominated for deletion. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 17:56, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
Religion?
[edit]The "Church" of Euthanasia is not serious. Look at its website. It is clearly a joke. The joke is on the Wikipedia editors who have missed that.Royalcourtier (talk) 07:54, 26 August 2016 (UTC)

Media featuring the Church of Euthanasia
[edit]Could someone please consider making a new section for "Media featuring the Church of Euthanasia"? The Parcast Podcast 'Cults': Episodes 28 & 29.
- E28: “Church of Euthanasia” - Chris Korda
- E29: “Church of Euthanasia” Pt. 2 - Chris Korda
The same episodes are also available at NPR One:

Parody religion
[edit]Calling the Church a parody religion violates WP:NPOV, WP:NOR, and WP:VERIFY.
WP:VERIFY explicitly says so: "All material in Wikipedia mainspace, including everything in articles, lists, and captions, must be verifiable. All quotations, and any material whose verifiability has been challenged or is likely to be challenged, must include an inline citation to a reliable source that directly supports the material. Any material that needs a source but does not have one may be removed."
So, I'm going to edit the beginning so as to take that out.
MitchS (talk) 22:50, 10 March 2022 (UTC)
- Even the Parody Religion article lists the Church among "Post-modern religions," which it describes as follows: "The following post-modern religions that may be seen as elaborate parodies of already-existent religions...." (emphasis added) MitchS (talk) 23:00, 10 March 2022 (UTC)
