DALL-E → DALL·E – Misspelled: OpenAI has consistently referred to its image generation model as "DALL·E" without a dash in its official communications. This naming convention has been always maintained since the model's introduction, so there's no reason to change its name by using a dash. - Oppose Agree with BarrelProof,162 etc., and blindlynx above. I'll also point out that the first few reliable secondary sources I've checked all use a dash in the name, showing that using the dash is commonplace and supported by sources, like NPR at Surreal or too real? Technically DALL-E is art theft
[edit]I’m just gonna straight up say it. DALL-E and most AI image generators are art theft. The only reason they haven’t been classified as theft by any law makers is because of how new this whole AI stuff is.
AI art is theft because for starters all of these AI images generators admit they use images they got off from the internet. This Wikipedia article even says this
“DALL·E's model is a multimodal implementation of GPT-3 with 12 billion parameters which "swaps text for pixels," trained on text–image pairs from the Internet.”
Except they like to word them as “these generator learns from images posted on the internet.”
It also seems unlikely that most of the images they use are in the public domain. CycoMa1 (talk) 02:59, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
I mean come on they know that their program is problematic the article even says this.
“ DALL·E 3 is designed to block users from generating art in the style of currently-living artists.” CycoMa1 (talk) 05:00, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
It feels like this article is just giving undue weight on the matter.CycoMa1 (talk) 05:04, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
- @CycoMa1: The talk page is WP:NOTAFORUM. I fail to see a case for the undue weight template you added. Are you aware of reliable secondary sources discussing your concerns? WeyerStudentOfAgrippa (talk) 12:03, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
DALL-E & DALL·E, yet again
[edit]The article is not very consistent in its formatting of the name. I'd suggest, per commoname and the above move request, that we replace all instances of DALL·E by DALL-E. Thoughts? — Alien333 (what I did & why I did it wrong) 10:51, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- Agreed.

semiprotection
[edit]There were some weird invisible comments here trying to stop accidental vandalism here. They go like
This is NOT DALL-E! This is WIKIPEDIA!!
If such vandalism is a problem then the article can just be put under semiprotection. It will stop all the clueless visitors from trying to prompt Wikipedia. pony in a strange land (talk) 03:44, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
