1. Well-written:
1a. the prose is clear, concise, and understandable to an appropriately broad audience; spelling and grammar are correct.
1b. it complies with the Manual of Style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation.
  • c. is preferred over c.- see MOS:CIRCA
  • Using words like although, while, furthermore, etc. isn't always needed. If the source does not mention it... then it's best to omit them.
2. Verifiable with no original research, as shown by a source spot-check:
2a. it contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline.
  • question mark Suggestion I recommend adding Bert Joseph (1917) and other book sources to a section called "works cited", "Notes" etc. (you choose) and prehaps use Template:Sfn (or Template:Sfnm) and add page number(s) the content is cited on.
2b. reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose).
  • Considering how much this article relys on, WP:SCHOLARSHIP, this might be something we will need to resolve. I notice that they add a reference list at the bottom which is good but I'm noy sure about including
  • question mark Suggestion Instead use "website=Newspapers.com" use "via=Newspapers.com" and add the correct publisher to "publisher=" and the location the newspaper published in "location=".
  • fortwaynebeer.com/berghoff-brewing is not a reliable source.
  • When citing Encyclopedia Britanica it's better to use {{cite encyclopedia}} prehaps currently it can be omitted?
2c. it contains no original research.
  • What page is content cited in Bert Joseph (1917)? This appears to be a 719 page book, so pages are needed for someone who has the book itself and would like to verify the information.
  • There is uncited information in (§) Personal life and family
  • I'd also like to note to prefer using a better source than www.fortwaynereader.com and other self-pubed websites
2d. it contains no copyright violations or plagiarism.
3. Broad in its coverage:
3a. it addresses the main aspects of the topic.
3b. it stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style).
  • Is it needed to mention his family members? If they are notable, it is OK.
4. Neutral: it represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each.
  • Yes.
5. Stable: it does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute.
  • Article is neutral with no edit wars etc.
6. Illustrated, if possible, by media such as images, video, or audio:
6a. media are tagged with their copyright statuses, and valid non-free use rationales are provided for non-free content.
  • I am unable do verify the status of File:Indiana Governor Winfield T. Durbin.gif, File:William J Hosey.png, File:Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany - 1902.jpg.
6b. media are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions.
  • Captions are appopriate.
7. Overall assessment.
