Couple of things

[edit]

Hi, just about ready to assess as B-Class but two things:

  1. "He fought well during the Battle of Chickamauga..." sounds a bit lame. Can we come up with anything more meaningful than "fought well"?
  2. Your last citation, "Warner, p., states Jackson's grave is unmarked." is missing the actual page number.

Otherwise everything looks very good, as usual. Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 03:15, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

How does it look now? Kresock (talk) 03:24, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Chickamauga order of battle inaccuracies

[edit]

The article states that Jackson and his brigade fought in Daniel H. Hill's corps at Chickamauga and cites Eicher. However, a quick check with Cozzens' This Terrible Sound and Powell's Maps of Chickamauga both place Jackson's brigade in Cheatham's division of Polk's corps. The National Park Service's marker on the Chickamauga battlefield confirms this. If there are no objections, I am changing the text and citation. Semperpietas (talk) 18:47, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Jackson's Brigade in fact was in Cheatham's Division of Polk's Corps at Chickamauga according to the Official Records, volume 30, Chapter XLII, Part I, p. 11, Report No. 235. Official Records on Cornell University web site. Wikipedia Order of Battle article also has this organization. I would say the change is in order. Donner60 (talk) 04:27, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I will make the edit. According to Powell, Jackson's Brigade was detached in Chattanooga and was assigned to Cheatham's Division when the army fell back on that depot. Semperpietas (talk) 12:26, 6 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
