I was very impressed by your rebuttal to an administrator that wrote, "[a certain sysop] is an admin ... I'm sorry but in any conflict between the two of you that requires weighing the relative commitment to the goals of the project or [judgment] of the project's mores, I'll be backing [the sysop]." -- Rico 03:35, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

  • Book cover image. There probably won't be a free image, as book covers are generally copyrighted. Upload it here (not on Commons) under our fair use rules, which will be fine for the infobox. Keep image under 300px in size, and add this text to the image's information, instead of the usual information summary:
{{Non-free use rationale
 |Article           =
 |Description       = book cover
 |Source = <!--fill this in: "scanned from book cover" or the URL of the website you downloaded it from -->
 |Portion           = all
 |Low_resolution = yes, the width is <!--put the width of the image here; make sure it's 300px or under-->
 |Purpose = for use in the infobox
 |Replaceability = no free images are available
 |other_information =
}}
{{Non-free book cover}}
If you don't already have an image, search Google Images, find one that's 300px or under, download it to your computer, and then upload it to Wikipedia.
  • Clear: {{clear}}
  • Columns: {{Div col}} {{Div col end}}
  • Current dollars: $100,000 in 1900
(${{formatnum:{{Inflation|US|100000|1900|r=-2}}}} in current dollar terms)
  • Quote box:
{{quote box |width=20em | bgcolor= |align=right | quote= "...."<ref>{{cite web|url= |title= |date= |accessdate= }}</ref>|source= — ...}}
  • Coordinates: Coordinates add context to an article, and icons appear on google earth (eventually). Use google images, Bing birdseye view, and google streetview to cross reference locations. Then center google maps on the location, copy this code into the address bar, and press enter: javascript:void(prompt('',"{{coord|" + gApplication.getMap().getCenter().lat() + "|" + gApplication.getMap().getCenter().lng() + "}}")); Then copy the text out of dialogue box, paste it into the article, and trim the coordinates to appropriate accuracy (usually 4 decimal places for a building).
  • Alternatively on Coordinates: go to the location on Google Maps, right click on the "What's here?" link, which generates decimal coordinates in the search box. If just using the coord template, then add that to the page using

    {{coord|latitude decimal number|longitude decimal number|format=dms|display=title}}

    The "format=dms" converts the decimal into degrees, minutes, and seconds, which many editors prefer using over decimals.

    If going to fill in the lat/long fields in an infobox, do the same thing, but insert the coord template into a sep page, preview it to get the dms equivalent, and then copy and paste those numbers into the infobox.

The growth rate of new Wikipedia articles is decaying...
The One prediction is that Wikipedia will level off at about 3.5 million articles. Currently, there are 6,914,331 articles.
