Information icon Hello, I'm BilCat. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, USS Langley (CV-1), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. BilCat (talk) 05:58, 3 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Faux-reverts

[edit]

Using the revert function to add content that was not previously removed by another editor is not the purpose of that function. It needlessly sends notifications to that editor about an edit they did not make. Some might call that harrassment, while others consider it just plain obnoxious. Please don't abuse the function in this manner. If you need help adding content, contact the help desk. The Teahouse is also a good resource for beginners. Thank you - wolf 16:20, 3 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. - wolf 16:39, 31 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, That article is unsourced and as such it will need to stay a redirect. It was reviewed by page review WP:NPP and that is the consensus. scope_creepTalk 16:38, 21 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you plan to update it and put proper references on it, then it can be reverted. Please take a look at WP:REFB. scope_creepTalk 17:03, 21 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Loafiewa. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Akizuki-class destroyer (2010) have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. Information icon Hi 12.185.211.194! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Makhnovshchina several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Makhnovshchina, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Please find consensus on Talk:Makhnovshchina#Disagreement with infobox removal before reverting.. czar 22:27, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to 'Ndrangheta, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. DonCalo (talk) 18:09, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You re-inserted original research in violation of WP:NOR that had been removed[1], despite the fact that the previous deletion clearly stated the none of the sources you used mentioned the 'Ndrangheta. You also did so without a clear edit summary on why you re-inserted it again. - DonCalo (talk) 18:24, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon When you edit the infobox of an article, please remember that it is meant to summarise the article. The U.S.N. orbat in the article on Operation Praying Mantis says one U.S.N. cruiser was involved in Operation Praying Mantis. Therefore the infobox should say 1 cruiser, not 2.-- Toddy1 (talk) 17:50, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that one or more recent edit(s) you made did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! -- Toddy1 (talk) 17:51, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you make disruptive edits to Wikipedia contrary to the Manual of Style, as you did at Battle of la Drang. Loafiewa (talk) 20:11, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
