Changing infoboxes

[edit]

Thank you for your edits! Wikipedia has a Manual of Style to help make sure that articles have a consistent appearance. When you're making changes to the infobox, please make sure your changes match the expectations - the template documentation ({{Infobox person}} and {{Infobox film}}) have good explanations of how to use the different parameters. Some of the edits you've made that really shouldn't have been done include adding zero's to single-digit dates (so use 3 instead of adding 03), wikilinking country and language, adding nationality when there's the country of birth matches, adding present day names for cities when they've changed names (Wikipedia uses the location names at the time they were born for birth location). Thank you. Ravensfire (talk) 16:16, 1 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Shershaah, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Again, please follow the MOS and don't overlink country/language in infoboxes. Also please read WP:OVERLINK and avoid linking terms repeatedly. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Staff. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Purani Dili Talkies requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Request reason:

Decline reason:

As per above and below. If this is the best you can do, en.wikipedia.org isn't the place for you. If you have a substantially more convincing unblock request that demonstrates you understand what you did wrong and specifically demonstrates you now understand WP:BLP, feel free to make your request. But you've already wasted two unblock requests and don't get an infinite number. Make the next one count. Yamla (talk) 20:30, 24 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This is actually worse than your prior requests, as you are just repeating talking points back to us, and you don't do as Yamla asks above. You seem to be either unable or unwilling to answer our questions. 331dot (talk) 08:50, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I’ve read and understood all the policies on biography of living persons and now need not to be banned. Rudy Saint (talk) 10:29, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

We can't just take your word for that. Please demonstrate your understanding. 331dot (talk) 10:30, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I will not add too much personal information -and information without sources. All the contributions made will be from a neutral point of view. Rudy Saint (talk) 10:32, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Are you absolutely sure this (1) demonstrates you understand what you did wrong and (2) specifically demonstrates you now understand WP:BLP? I don't mean to trick you. My claim is that it obviously does neither of those things and instead, indicates you either aren't listening to us or can't understand the problem.
