Logged out editing

[edit]

Hi - you seem to do a fair amount (the majority?) of your editing while logged out. There is no policy requiring us to log into our accounts when we edit, but I would urge you to read WP:LOUTSOCK. I see a number of articles that you have edited both as your main account, and as an IP editor, and at least one instance where you have reverted the same user with your account, and then when logged out; which certainly looks like an attempt to evade potential scrutiny of your reverts. Please could you stop doing that? I'm not saying that you must log in to edit, but you need to be careful to give the impression that you are acting deceptively. Thank you. Information icon Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Ricardo Quaresma. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Per MOS:CAPTION. JackkBrown (talk) 14:44, 7 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you are referring to this caption: "Quaresma performs a bicycle kick against France at Euro 2016", the difference with the other captions is as follows: this caption is a complete sentence (for more information, see: MOS:CAPTION), whereas all the others are incomplete sentences, so it is incorrect to insert the full stop at the end for these. Good work to you too! JackkBrown (talk) 15:09, 7 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I think that photo seems to be copyrighted, it doesn't appear that "Jordi Amat Twitter" is the only one who has that photo and it looks like the same photo is not uploaded by the player himself on his Twitter. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 09:12, 15 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Also: looks to me that is a crop of the first photo which provides proof the cropped photo was uploaded with incorrect info provided. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 09:18, 15 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Think this user is back with another IP address: [1]. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 08:30, 22 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Since I have seen another IP address relating to who I think it is along with the alleged user name Armstrong.wiki, I have used some of my spare time to report to admins. You have been briefed. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 18:31, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There has been a new edit on Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/HazemGM, detailing the fact that logged out editing has been mentioned, which we know there has been hundreds of that going on since 20 June has passed. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 08:04, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is that Lorry Gundersen demand majority voting about that subject which I doubt that it will happen anytime soon. I gave him valid arguments about removing this text but he refuses to accept them. When Real Madrid won Champions League in 2016, Denis Cheryshev was not part of the team during that moment of time. He left the club for a loan to Valencia in February. If he left the team before the triumph, it means that he was not needed there anymore in that season despite playing a couple of matches for them earlier. NextEditor123 (talk) 08:03, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Here is the discussion from last time, where no decision was taken, and, taken into account there was no much participation from WP football editors, I don't really care anymore. If you wish to reopen this to seek for a consesus, good luck. Kind regards, Lorry Gundersen (talk) 08:27, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Me neither (care)! I know Mr. Cheryshev was entitled to a medal, enough for me. I won't reinstate the honour, of course. --RevampedEditor (talk) 16:47, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Obrigado pela ajuda com as referências, só adicionei de volta os links do La Voz de Galicia, por causa do MOS:DUPLINK: "Generally, a link should appear only once in an article, but it may be repeated if helpful for readers, such as in infoboxes, tables, image captions, footnotes, hatnotes, and at the first occurrence after the lead. Citations stand alone in their usage, so there is no problem with repeating the same link in many citations within an article; e.g. |work=The Guardian."

Revert

[edit]

Hi. What is this revert about? Robby.is.on (talk) 20:17, 18 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Box spacings. I think i explained it rather well, without escalating anything.
Have a nice weekend! RevampedEditor (talk) 18:20, 19 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox formatting

[edit]

Hi, it seems that my recent edits in infoboxes using the Visual Editor changed the formatting of the infobox elements that I assume you did. I apologize for that, and I reverted my other edits that had this effect. Nevertheless...

Before you start typing MESSAGES IN CAPS to other users about the formatting change that the Visual Editor causes, please have the humility to recognize that the standard infobox formatting rules in Wikipedia for footballers are defined here, not in the manual of style of RevampedEditor. If you think that improvements can be made, then propose it to the community, or at least add your idea for the formatting as a comment in the article so that editors avoid breaking it. Thanks.

Good morning, from Portugal!
You are absolute correct in your approach. I apologise for the hysterical summary, do continue the good work.
Happy editing and weekend, sorry for any inconvenience RevampedEditor (talk) 09:12, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Si hubieras pensado que yo me había perdido la cabeza, acabo de descubrir por que había escrito tanta boludez en la lead.

Yo tenía estas cifras en otra pantalla.

Hi there. I hope all is well and this finds you in good faith. Thank you for reinstating current club in the infobox – it is something that I did not notice.

First and foremost, I want you to know I am editing in good faith and not intentionally trying to change any of your edits. I'm happy with the final line as it is now and I believe no further changes are necessary here.

That being said, I don't necessarily agree with how the infobox is being presented here, and believe it to be a bit messy, but I am not going to revert it back as it may end up becoming an edit war. Please note that if other editors change the infobox and you keep reverting back to your preferred version, you may become embroiled in an edit war here.

Thank you for your work, and I look forward to continue seeing you around Wikipedia. Kind regards. Fats40boy11 (talk) 19:21, 5 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Accidentally reverted this article: José Luis Morales (footballer, born 1987)

[edit]

So i gave his actual full name confirmed by the league he plays in from the actual site, and you reverted it back. Well then, i guess free speech is a crime nowadays. Rubenaf16 (talk) 08:17, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The same user keeps on claiming this Jonny currently plays in Greece but I can't find any sources to confirm that. What is that person like? Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 20:48, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

When do relegated clubs get bumped in their articles?

[edit]

I reverted the change to Paulo Estrela because the Portimonense S.C. article still shows them in the top league. What's the normal project timetable for updating the current league of relegated teams? —C.Fred (talk) 18:10, 1 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Suspicious IP address detected

[edit]

154.180.149.122:

Last time you caught one from your current account contributions had an IP address with the first two numbers exactly the same. As well as stating HazemGM, it is quite obvious that the editing patterns are similarly bad but at least I've spotted something was wrong once that IP made a certain number of edits. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 21:45, 26 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the delay in reply, was away on holiday. On the subject, i've given up on watchlisting this or that individual, i'll revert them as i see them (and in HazemGM's case, you can bet i will!).
Thanks for the input/assistance, take care RevampedEditor (talk) 15:16, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Linking news sources in references

[edit]

Hey. I've been looking at pages of more popular players, which tend to get more attention from experienced users, and, contrary to your last edit to Danilo Pereira, none of them had links to the respective media's Wikipedia page in their references. I'm not sure whether that's correct or not, but I do believe that there should be some sort of set standard for all pages. I'm inclined to agree with you if you can provide any Wiki page about references that confirms your standpoint, if not then maybe we can trigger the change and help make all pages adhere to the same standard. Thanks, Vasil3fonov (talk) 12:55, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the quick response! As I said, I am inclined to agree, and I suppose it doesn't hurt to have a link there. In fact, it's probably better in an informative sense if the reader isn't aware of the media's existence and would like to learn more about it.
Also, thanks for the kind words, I can say the same about your work, keep it up! Cheers, Vasil3fonov (talk) 17:25, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I recently restored a link that appeared in the "publisher" section of a citation [2]. As I happened upon this exchange, I thought add a note here. In WP:DUPLINK, there is more specific advice about citations: "Citations stand alone in their usage, so there is no problem with repeating the same link in many citations within an article; e.g. |work=[[The Guardian]]." There's probably another guide or policy that says "except if...", but I haven't found it yet. Cheers. signed, Willondon (talk) 19:56, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Why wait, reply now :) I'm as dumb as they come regarding guidelines, but this one makes ZERO sense in my book. If publishers/newspapers/sites are linked here it's because they have a WP article; if you linked them more than once it's overlinking, isn't it?
But don't worry, my kind fellow user, not going to revert anything, it stays your way. Cheers, enjoy the rest of your Saturday! RevampedEditor (talk) 18:30, 19 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Michel

[edit]

The edit I inserted was sourced. I was writing that he shouted "Me lo merezco" when he scored the second goal against South Korea (mostly in answer to criticism that Luis Suarez and the Spanish team faced from the media, with Michel being the one who was the one who was mostly targeted by media scrutiny after the draw against Uruguay).
