Yamazaki Station (山崎駅, Yamazaki-eki) is a passenger railway station in the town of Ōyamazaki, Otokuni District, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan, operated by the West Japan Railway Company (JR West).
Lines
[edit]Yamazaki Station is served by the Tōkaidō Main Line (JR Kyōto Line), and lies 14.1 km (8.8 miles) from the starting point of the line at Kyoto and 527.7 kilometers from Tokyo. Only local trains stop at this station.
Layout
[edit]The station has two island platforms serving four tracks (compatible with 12-car trains) and one outbound siding track. The outer track side of each platform is closed to permit the passing of express trains. Since the platform is on a slope, the station building is located below the platform. The station is staffed.
