Prevale, also known by full name Carlo Prevale (born Subiaco on July 6, 1983) is an Italian disc jockey, record producer, remixer author, writer and radio host.

• [Parlaci dei tuoi inizi, come nasci artisticamente?] Come ho detto in precedenti interviste, non c'è un punto d'inizio ben preciso, è una passione che nasce con me, è nel mio DNA e mi viene tutto magistralmente facile. Poi, come tutti ho iniziato in feste private con gli amici e quando suonavo i dischi di altri artisti e la gente si esaltava, ho pensato quanto sarebbe stato bello se queste emozioni la gente le potesse provare ballando e ascoltando delle mie canzoni!

[Tell us about your beginnings, how are you born artistically?] As I said in previous interviews, there is not precise starting point, it's a passion that is born with me, it's in my DNA and everything comes masterfully easy. Then, like everyone I started in private parties with friends and when I played other artists' records and people got excited, I thought how great it would be if people could feel these emotions while dancing and listening to my songs!

[The 3 adjectives to define your sound?] Cheerful, exciting and overwhelming.

• [Come nascono le tue song?] Le mie song nascono dal nulla, spontanee, niente di studiato a tavolino, di solito è di notte che l'ispirazione mi porta delle buone idee... magari sono in qualsiasi punto del mio studio e canticchio, canticchio e poi esclamo: "Mmm carino questo motivo...". Se la mattina seguente il motivetto mi rimane in mente allora vuol dire che ha delle potenzialità! Il passo successivo è quello di buttare degli accordi con la tastiera e registrare una demo con la mia voce, sulla quale poi lavorarci tranquillamente.

[How are your songs born?] My songs come out of nothing, spontaneous, nothing studied at the table, usually it is at night that inspiration brings me good ideas ... maybe they are anywhere in my studio and I hum, hum and then exclaim: "Mmm cute this reason ... ". If the tune stays in my mind the next morning then it means that it has potential! The next step is to throw some chords with the keyboard and record a demo with my voice, which you can then work on quietly.

[What do you think of music piracy?] Kills music! So, all that is pure emotion.

• [Dotato di una bellissima voce, quando ti è venuta l'idea di interpretare il lavoro di doppiatore?] Durante l'età adolescenziale... realizzavo piccoli comunicati delle mie serate insieme alla mia ex compagna Clara, anche lei, dotata di una bellissima voce.

[Gifted with a beautiful voice, when did you come up with the idea of interpreting the work of voice actor?] During my teenage years ... I made little announcements of my evenings together with my ex-partner Clara, who was also gifted with a beautiful voice.

• [Come nasce Carlo Prevale DJ?] Già all'età di 7 anni ero appassionato di musica e vari rumori, prodotti con ogni tipo di tamburo autocostruito con secchi vuoti di vernice. Registravo musicassette dalla radio chiamando il conduttore.

[How was Carlo Prevale DJ born?] Already at the age of 7 I was fond of music and various noises, produced with all kinds of self-made drums with empty buckets of paint. I was recording cassette tapes from the radio by calling the conductor.

• [Ricordi la tua prima serata come DJ?] Sì, ricordo perfettamente la mia prima serata come DJ. Era nel 1999 nella discoteca Green Club di Monte Livata. Ricordo la tensione di un adolescente di 16 anni e della sua paura di sbagliare. La pista era piena, la consolle era in una cabina sopraelevata, sapevo di avere una grande responsabilità e ce la misi tutta.

[Remember your first night as a DJ?] Yes, I perfectly remember my first night as a DJ. It was in 1999 in the Green Club of Monte Livata. I remember the tension of a 16-year-old teenager and his fear of making mistakes. The track was full, the console was in an elevated cabin, I knew I had a great responsibility and I gave it my all.

• [La richiesta musicale più strana che ti hanno mai fatto?] In piena serata un uomo del tutto ubriaco mi chiese un Cha Cha Cha gridando ad alta voce "Mi sento gay!".

[The strangest musical request they've ever made of you?] In the middle of the evening a completely drunk man asked me for a Cha Cha Cha shouting loudly "I feel gay!".

• [Qual è la musica che prediligi nei tuoi set?] Amo molti generi di musica e soprattutto non faccio una selezione in base all'anno di uscita. "La musica è senza tempo, un bel brano di ieri è bello oggi e sarà bello domani".

[What is your favorite music on your sets?] I love many genres of music and above all I don't make a selection based on the year of release. "The music is timeless, a good song from yesterday is good today and it will be good tomorrow".

• [Qual è il disco che più ti rappresenta?] Non ce n'è uno in particolare che più mi rappresenta, qualsiasi disco che produco, compongo, remixo o seleziono mi rappresenta.

[Which is the record that best represents you?] There isn't one in particular that most represents me, any record I produce, compose, remix or select represents me.

• [Un aneddoto della tua carriera?] "Divertirsi è un'arte e il segreto è giocare DJ".

[An anecdote from your career?] "Having fun is an art and the secret is playing DJ".

• [Se tornassi indietro eviteresti di...] Lavorare e dar fiducia a persone decisamente false e scorrette. "Amo chi osa, odio chi usa".

[If I went back you would avoid ...] To work and trust people who are decidedly false and incorrect. I love who dares... I hate those who use.

• [Oltre alla musica hai qualche altra passione?] Si, amo scrivere aforismi e pensieri che nascono principalmente da esperienze e momenti vissuti giorno per giorno.

[In addition to music, do you have any other passion?] Yes, I love writing aphorisms and thoughts that arise mainly from experiences and moments lived day by day.

• [Qual è secondo te il ruolo del DJ oggi?] Il ruolo di sempre, trasmettere tramite la musica pure emozioni, energia e passione.

[What do you think is the role of the DJ today?] The usual role, to transmit pure emotions, energy and passion through music.

• [La tua consolle ideale qual è?] La classica consolle formata da 2 giradischi Technics Sl 1200 ed un mixer, però devo ammettere che mi adatto facilmente ad ogni altro tipo di consolle o attrezzatura.

[What is your ideal console?] The classic console consisting of 2 Technics Sl 1200 turntables and a mixer, but I must admit that I easily adapt to any other type of console or equipment.

• [Hai un mito, una persona che ammiri più delle altre, con la quale ti piacerebbe collaborare?] Non ho un mito in particolare, mi piacerebbe collaborare con qualsiasi persona che riesce ad esprimere la propria creatività attraverso ciò che sente nel cuore e nell'anima.

[Do you have a myth, a person you admire more than others, with whom you would like to collaborate?] I don't have a particular myth, I would like to collaborate with any person who is able to express their creativity through what they feel in the heart and soul.
