Delhi riots case

edit

He came into the spotlight due to his alleged involvement in the 2020 Northeast Delhi communal violence. He is currently accused of the murder of Intelligence Bureau officer Ankit Sharma and instigating an organized mob during the ongoing riots.[7][8][9]

The Delhi High Court granted him bail in five of the eleven cases registered against him related to the riots. However, he remains in prison in connection with the remaining cases, including the main conspiracy case.[10][11] His bail plea was denied after the Delhi court said that allegations on Hussain are prima facie true.[12][13][14]

Hussain has also faced a money laundering case for allegedly funding the riots. In a separate case, a Delhi court stated that Hussain was not only a conspirator but "an active rioter" as well, and framed charges against him under various provisions of the Indian Penal Code.[15][16]
