Talk:2017 Virginia gubernatorial election

edit

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Virginia gubernatorial election, 2017. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at {{Sourcecheck}}).

Perriello Endorsements

edit

Any reason why we don't include any or all of Perriello's 29 endorsements from the Obama administration? The list includes Obama's deputy chief of staff and senior adviser. Repeated Northam Voting References

edit

User:Chawliecharles continues to add Northam voting for George W. Bush in an (unprecedented) about the candidates section. This is not relevant biographical information. I find it difficult to assume good faith in light of only pro-Periello edits on this article from this user. I have found their talk page and asked them to cease these edits as well as provide a constructive alternative way to include the information in the article. (talk) 10:10, 12 June 2017 (CT)

"Declined"

edit

What does "declined" mean? As far as I know, several million Virginians decline to run for any given office in any given election. Largoplazo (talk) 10:13, 13 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Infobox

edit

FWIW, Why is the Libertarian gubernatorial nominee being re-inserted into the infobox? GoodDay (talk) 19:02, 14 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Because Libertarians care more about Wikipedia articles than winning elections? That's just a guess. – Muboshgu (talk) 19:07, 14 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Libertarian Photo

edit

I'm fairly new to Wikipedia. How do you add a photo of someone where you don't "own" a photo?Mms minis (talk) 02:51, 13 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

The easiest, simplest, and fastest approach would probably be to ask the owner to upload the photo themselves to the Wikimedia Commons. Katarina Couteau (talk) 20:48, 23 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

How do you add a separate page for Cliff Hyra in general? You click on his name and it redirects back to the election page. That seems unfair since the other two candidates have their own pages. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Singularityguy (talkcontribs) 15:23, 7 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

There was a page for Hyra but it got deleted on account of notability not proved. In anycase, the debate is somewhat academic now, as Hyra didn't get anywhere near the 5% needed for inclusion in the infobox. 88.215.17.228 (talk) 09:46, 8 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

"BRD Polling"

edit

The image of the founder on the site literally comes from an obituary published in 2015 for someone sharing the same name as the person listed on the site as its founder. It's an obvious front: they don't exist, because they're dead. Mélencron (talk) 16:13, 30 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
