next stage for rating improvement

edit

We could have a section on accidents, more on history, future plans, statistics over past years, facilities apart from car parks could be expanded, access by road, radio beacons and communications frequencies, fire service, control tower, meteorology, references from other sources than the official web site, more pictures, including a logo, a map or aerial photo in this article. If you can get this stuff included the rating could be a B. Perth Airport has a B rating if you would like to compare another airport article. Graeme Bartlett 09:04, 3 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Bot report : Found duplicate references !

edit

In the last revision I edited, I found duplicate named references, i.e. references sharing the same name, but not having the same content. Please check them, as I am not able to fix them automatically :)

    • To this day the Coffs Harbour Meteorological office is operational and has recently gone through even more upgrades to better the facility and area. The Coffs Harbour Meteorological Office takes care of all of the Coffs Harbour region and is part of the [[Bureau of Meteorology (Australia)|Australian Bureau of Meteorology]]<ref name="CFSmeteo"> ==History== In the early 1990s, Council gained full ownership of the airport, and it became clear that expansion would be necessary to meet the needs of the future, and to establish Coffs Harbour as a major regional center. This aim is set out in Council's Business Plan for the airport. In 1994 planning began to upgrade the airport terminal and runway at the price of $8 million. Stage one of the project was the widening of the main runway, and construction work started in May 1999.<ref name="CFShist">[http://www.coffsharbour.nsw.gov.au/www/html/404-history.asp ''Coffs Council-Airport History''], Accessed September 2007

I know this isn't a subjective place, yet I personally liked that picture of the Virgin 737 on the tarmac that previously held podium position (in no way personal favouritism. It's in fact the one image on the page I didn't take using my camera. Also, why did you remove one of the incidents? That is relevant. Cheers Tuddy (talk) 14:14, 29 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

It's not a bad image per se, but from what I have seen infoboxes in airport articles have a location map or a more general photo such as an aerial view, so I moved the other image from the main part of the article. By all means have the other image in the main article, my opinion was that there were enough images without it. As for the BAE Hawk incident, I can't see how documenting something that had basically nothing to do with the airport is relevant. Unlike the King Air accident, the incident in question didn't even happen at Coffs or while operating to/from Coffs, and quoting from Wikipedia:WikiProject Airports/page content,

"Accidents or incidents should only be included if:

  • The accident was fatal to either the aircraft occupants or persons on the ground.
  • The accident involved hull loss or serious damage to the aircraft or airport.
  • The accident invoked a change in procedures, regulations or process that had a wide effect on other airports or airlines or the aircraft industry."
