Death
edit(to whoever keeps adding a death section)
The *character* Frank Butcher has not been confirmed dead in the show yet. Mike Reid is dead, RIP, but potentially another actor could return as Frank (although this is unlikely!). It's happened in many soaps before!
Once someone says he's dead, his *fictional* death can be reported.
- There's no reason for Frank Butcher to be dead, even if the character never returns. He doesn't need to be mentioned again either. He's not real, the EastEnders universe isn't real. Characters pretty much cease to exist once they leave. — AnemoneProjectors (?) 21:33, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
True, Frank Butcher the character isn't dead (if never mentioned again). characters have been referenced before many years after they left, however. It's likely they'll mention him & kill off the character in Eastenders though, because of Frank's popularity and out of respect for Mike Reid. -Jw2034 23:07, 29 July 2007 (BST)
Oasis advert date
editThis section had said that the advert aired in 1990, but I changed it to 1990s for now. The BBC are quite strict about their characters/actors endorsing other products, and Frank was still in EE in 1990, so It's not likely that they would allow Reid to do an advert at that time. I might be wrong, so if someone can provide a source, feel free to change it back.Gungadin 14:45, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

- Can whoever is changing his last appearance to 2008 please stop it? As far as I'm aware his last appearance should read 2005 because that is when he last appeared in person and was credited by the BBC for an episode. I'm not aware of Mike Reid being credited for appearances in 2008 --5 albert square (talk) 12:52, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
- Agreed. I don't think archive footage counts or we'd be saying lots of characters last appeared on 19 February 2010 becuase of that tape Ian played to Dot. AnemoneProjectors 12:57, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
Fictional Killer
editI removed this category, as (a) Frank has not "committed manslaughter" (per the category page) and really, just because he accidentally killed someone, that doesn't really make him a "killer". Does anyone really think of him as such? I won't revert AP's revert, but I thought this would be a no-brain change! Stephenb (Talk) 20:50, 24 April 2012 (UTC)
- I agree :-) –AnemoneProjectors– 09:33, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
