ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message
editHello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}}

Request
editReduction in protection level for autoconfirmed users in article Pam Bondi. Contrde (talk) 02:31, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
- Not done @Contrde Sorry but I have to decline your request. This is obviously going to be a controversial nominee that falls firmly within the realm of WP:CTOP American Politics. Only experienced editors should be able to edit this article directly. Please feel free to make any suggestions for improvement on the article's talk page. Best regards... -Ad Orientem (talk) 02:50, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
Hi,
I accepted Draft:SHMU in AFC, and the redirect in the name SHMU had to be deleted first so I could move the accepted AFC submission. Can you tell me what was the target of the redirect (that was deleted)? I'm trying to add more links to the article. Thanks! Myrealnamm (💬Let's talk · 📜My work) 20:00, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Myrealnamm. The original SMHU was a redirect to Media in Aberdeen#Local radio. -Ad Orientem (talk) 20:19, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
Block evasion
editHi! Yesterday you blocked 2605:8d80:683:41fd::/64 for 60 hours for disruptive editing. It appears that the editor is now evading the block by editing as 2605:8D80:683:2812:DDC3:E19C:158:3D97 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log). This IP is making similar edits on the same articles as the blocked user; for example compare Special:Diff/1259413125 by the blocked IP with Special:Diff/1259504474 by the new IP. - @CodeTalker Blocked x 2 weeks. -Ad Orientem (talk) 18:19, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
Not sure if it's important...
edit... as 173.14.98.25's since been blocked, but that particular IP seems to be keenly aware of your existence (and even compliments you on never having edited while logged out), but might you need to have a look for any 'friends' of theirs? JayCubby Talk 19:25, 26 November 2024 (UTC)
- Edit: 96.74.37.173, 122.148.128.180, 45.16.11.21, 71.203.237.146, and 12.204.86.242 are a mere handful of 173's many brethren. JayCubby Talk 19:40, 26 November 2024 (UTC)
- @JayCubby I suspect that most of these IPs are proxies. I slapped a 6 month block on one of them. The others are either already blocked or the last edit was too far back. -Ad Orientem (talk) 20:09, 26 November 2024 (UTC)
