Disambiguation link notification for October 28
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 05:57, 28 October 2021 (UTC)

Manichaean Psalter vs Psalms and Prayers
editRecently you proposed a merge between Manichaean Psalter and Psalms and Prayers. Aside from the similar titles do you have any evidence suggesting they are the same document? For example, the sources in one article using the title of the other article. There is a similar issue with Fundamental Epistle and The Epistles.
Psalms and Prayers and The Epistles are both translations of the Chinese articles https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E8%B5%9E%E6%84%BF%E7%BB%8F and https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E5%BE%8B%E8%97%8F%E7%BB%8F and the names were ones I found in the template https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Template:Manichaeism_footer&oldid=870288171 made by https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Uriel1022 who I believe literally translated the titles from Chinese

- Cheers, I did a quick search but have no actual expertise in the area. Could I assume that the same is true for Gelasius of Nilopolis? Or should a link be included at the list at Gelasius? Best Regards. Hughesdarren (talk) 10:43, 15 November 2021 (UTC)

Autopatrolled granted
editHi Florificapis, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autopatrolled right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. However, you should consider adding relevant wikiproject talk-page templates, stub-tags and categories to new articles that you create if you aren't already in the habit of doing so, since your articles will no longer be systematically checked by other editors (User:Evad37/rater and User:SD0001/StubSorter.js are useful scripts which can help). Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Arbitrarily0 (talk) 08:03, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
Hyphenation of Asian/African American biblical hermeneutics
editHi there, I see you added a hyphen to both Asian American biblical hermeneutics and African American biblical hermeneutics. Much has been written about this question, both on Wikipedia Talk pages and in styleguides in general. I would argue that both these terms without the hyphen are the WP:COMMONNAME, and a simply Google search on either would make that point. A similar discussion was had in the Talk:Asian American studies#Requested move 18 June 2021.
Did you have a different rationale for the move? —Caorongjin 💬 16:03, 15 June 2022 (UTC)
- Hi @Caorongjin:, my rationale can be found at MOS:DUALNATIONALITIES: "An en dash between separate nations; for people and things identifying with multiple nationalities, use a hyphen when applied as an adjective or a space as a noun." Without the hyphen, it is simply not correct punctuation. Google often bases its results off Wikipedia, so you have to be very cautious when using it to determine WP:COMMONNAME. The main papers about ethnic American biblical hermeneutics also do not use correct punctuation. Therefore I strongly recommend keeping the hyphen. Florificapis (talk) 16:05, 15 June 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for the swift reply. But, "Asian" and "African" are by no means nations/nationalities. While I take the problem with Google, the scholarly works related to the subject almost all have no hyphenation. While you may disagree with that practice, it is still the WP:COMMONNAME. —Caorongjin 💬 16:10, 15 June 2022 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on Category:People associated with Xenophontos Monastery indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read! ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message
editHello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}}
to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:48, 29 November 2022 (UTC)
The article Hesychia has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
In it's current form, this page doesn't demonstrate notability per WP:GNG. No sources are cited which discuss a concept of Hesychia inclusive of both Christian and Neoplatonist conceptions. It implies a connection between Neoplatonic Hesychia and Christian Hesychia, which is likely, but without citations, is WP:OR/WP:SYNTH. At a glance, it seems best to redirect this page to Hesychasm, with future discussion of the relationship with Neoplatonism discussed in the historical development section of that article.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Daask (talk) 17:19, 16 May 2023 (UTC)

Wonderful work on The Ascetical Homilies of Isaac the Syrian - I bought a copy from the monastery online 2 years ago, and would one day not mind going through the entire thing to put it on WikiSource (though that's an issue for later! Possibly doing that would be a copyvio too). Fantastic work you've done so far on such an influential text - I did not realize the article hadn't existed prior to 2023 either.
Hoping to help you contribute to it too as I work my way through the Homilies :) — That Coptic Guyping me! (talk) (contribs) 03:02, 17 February 2024 (UTC) |
- @That Coptic Guy: Wow thank you, I really appreciate this! You have been doing great work too. There is so much more about Isaac the Syrian that can go on Wikipedia. Hopefully I can make further progress when I get the time to do so.
- Instead of Wikisource, I would instead recommend Wikiquote due to the potential copyright issues that you had mentioned. You are more than welcome to help expand wikiquote:Isaac of Nineveh as you make your way through the homilies. There are so many gems in there that can be included in Wikiquote. Apparent AI content from User 185.10.224.66
editHi Florificapis - whilst preparing some small updates to Randazzo, I saw you had reverted a slab of apparent AI content in May that had been added on 3 July 2023 by user 185.10.224.66. I noticed that they made several other similar updates on the same day, so I have followed your lead and reverted their changes to Maletto and Roccella Valdemone.
They also updated Redondo, Portugal and Vernier, Switzerland (three edits) which are less simple to revert. I wondered if you had better insight and capability than me to try and undo their changes? DarylKayes (talk) 11:05, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
- @DarylKayes: Thanks for noticing this. You can go ahead and revert all of them if none of them have much useful content. Florificapis (talk) 06:11, 26 October 2024 (UTC)
