Women in Red
editHi there, Old-AgedKid, and thanks for writing several biographies of Mexican women. If you intend to continue covering women, you might be interested in becoming a member of WikiProject Women in Red where we are trying to chip away at the gender gap. You can sign up under "New registrations" on Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/New members. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 06:16, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
- Firstly, I appreciate you reaching out and acknowledging my contributions to Wikipedia, specifically the biographies of Mexican women I've been working on. It's heartening to see our efforts recognized and I'm glad the articles have been noticed.
I'm fully aware of the gender gap in Wikipedia content and it's a primary reason why I've chosen to focus on women, particularly Mexican women, as the subject of my articles. The underrepresentation is indeed an issue that needs addressing, and I appreciate the work that groups like WikiProject Women in Red are doing to correct it.
Your invitation to join the WikiProject Women in Red has certainly piqued my interest. Having the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded editors committed to improving the representation of women on Wikipedia is an offer that's hard to pass up. However, I would like to have a clear understanding of my responsibilities and expectations before I commit. Old-AgedKid (talk) 09:39, 31 May 2023 (UTC)
Nomination of Sean O'Hollaren for deletion
editThe article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sean O'Hollaren until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.
Hi thanks for creating this article. When we translate or borrow from other language wikis it’s a requirement to acknowledge the source. The best way to do this is to include it in your edit summary (e.g. “translated from nl.wiki”) and there’s also a translation template you can add to the talk page. I’ve added it for you. Happy editing and please leave a message on my talk page if you need any help Mccapra (talk) 12:29, 26 August 2023 (UTC)
Elvira Nosari moved to draftspace

Mexican politicians
editJust for future reference, because Mexico is a country that has had thousands of politicians in its history, it's absolutely not helpful or useful for all (or even any) of them to appear directly in Category:Mexican politicians itself — instead, all Mexican politicians are filed in subcategories for the specific roles, locations and/or time periods that are relevant to their political careers, such as Noé Castañón Ramírez's Category:Politicians from Chiapas, Category:Citizens' Movement (Mexico) politicians and Category:Senators of the LXIV and LXV Legislatures of Mexico.
So, per our rules against duplicate categorization, a person who is already in one or more of those categories should not also be filed directly in Category:Mexican politicians alongside them, because they're all already subcategories of that and thus the person is already in the Mexican politicians category by virtue of being in the subcategory.
Category:Mexican politicians would have to contain thousands of people if it were directly populated itself, which would not be helpful to the reader at all, so individual people should only be in the subcategories, and Category:Mexican politicians itself should not have any individual pages filed directly in it at all.
Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 12:16, 27 August 2023 (UTC)

Deletion discussion about Claudio Ferrada
editHello Old-AgedKid, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Claudio Ferrada, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Claudio Ferrada.
Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Vanderwaalforces}}
. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~

editThank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you translated text from Ciesse Piumini to another page. While you are welcome to translate Wikipedia content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the contributor(s) of the original article. When translating from a foreign-language Wikipedia article, this is supplied at a minimum in an edit summary on the page where you add translated content, identifying it as a translation and linking it to the source page. For example:
Content in this edit is translated from the existing French Wikipedia article at [[:fr:Exact name of French article]]; see its history for attribution.
It is good practice, especially if translation is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{translated page}} template on the talk page of the destination article. If you have added translated content previously which was not attributed at the time it was added, you must add attribution retrospectively, even if it was a long time ago. You can read more about author attribution and the reasons for it at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. Broc (talk) 13:11, 18 July 2024 (UTC)
About Draft:Intersec - there were two distinct topics this has been about, the first a British magazine/website, the second a French magazine/website
edit@Redbaron1984, Randykitty, Explicit, Old-AgedKid, Chaotic Enby, Walonsley, and Jnabonne:
- The British magazine/website topic (please see https://www.intersecmag.co.uk/) started by Redbaron1984 on 4 Jan 2012 was deleted via WP:PROD on 27 May 2024 by Explicit
- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Intersec Group was in 2017
- The French language article fr:Intersec Group created on 29 March 2017 by Jnabonne as " Créé en traduisant la page « Intersec Group » that is, as translation of the en.wp article
I don't have any particular opinion about this, just letting you know what I can see on only en.wp with my magical admin spectacles on.

Women's biographies
editI see that over the years, Old-AgedKid, you have created many biographies of Latin-American politicians, including many more about women. Further to my earlier invitation regarding Women in Red, I think you should reconsider joining as your work would serve as an inspiration to others. You have certainly been helping to increase the proportion of women's biographies on the English Wikipedia which is now close to 20%. As a member of the project, you would have no firm responsibilities but you would be welcome to take part in our discussions and offer adv1ice on future developments. If you wish to join, you can sign up under "New registrations" on Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/New members. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 10:13, 23 August 2024 (UTC)

editAn article you recently created, Carlos Iván Degregori, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
