Sunday Quilt Inspiration: squared | Quilts, Quilt patterns, Vintage quilts

Sure, squares are interesting and easy. So, why not? If you are considering making a quilt, any one of these would be a great way to begin. How, you ask? 1. Start with a square of fabric and sew it to another square. Keep adding squares to form a row until you are satisfied that the row is long enough. Butterflies on a Quilt: A Colorful DIY Craft

Judi made this super cute quilt for her 5 year old granddaughter! She used a layer cake of 30's repro fabrics featuring a lot of cute children's scenes. The backing is a pink double-sided microfiber plush fabric. The quilting is "Butterfly Garden" and shows up best on the following photo. It includes butterflies, leaves, hearts, curls, feathers and loops. Super cute quilt, Judi! It will be so cuddly for your granddaughter. While I was quilting "Butterfly Garden" on this quilt, I noticed…

Aunt Grace | Start quilting, Quilts, Machine quilting

This is another of Karen's well-made quilts. It is really square, although in my photo it looks a little goofy. Her colors seem wonderfully adventuresome for a reproduction quilt: the green in the border is a bit muckier in person and the pink is brighter. She asked for lots of feathers and I was happy to comply. I have one more of Karen's quilts to do but it will have to wait until January.
