My new 'adding ing' anchor chart! 😊 I've always wished that I could draw well and have better handwriting, so I never dared to make anchor charts or anything else that wasn't digital for my classroom. But this year I've decided to get over my silly insecurities and just do it! Now making anchor charts is one of my favourite things to do and my students are always really excited when I bring a new one in to school. So I hope you all enjoy my little cartoon as much as I enjoyed drawing it! When adding -ed or -ing to verbs ending in a short vowel sound followed by one consonant, double that consonant before adding the ending; when adding -ed or -ing to verbs ending in a vowel-consonant-e, drop the final e before adding the ending. This rule is demonstrated using the examples of "stop" becoming "stopped/stopping" and "move" becoming "moved/moving".
