Covered in old carpet (even in the kitchen) and in need of a lot of work, Kira Cole wasn't deterred by the remodeling challenge of this condo.

This cramped condo's living room is now unrecognizable thanks to stylish AND smart furniture choices, as well as a clever built-in. The wall mural is a must-see!

It can be difficult as a renter to make big changes in a kitchen, but it’s not completely impossible. Take this kitchen transformation with funky renter-friendly checkerboard floors, for instance, or this one that completely changes the look of the cabinets and counters but can be easily undone when it’s time to move out.

Here’s a kitchen transformation where I think we can confidently say that no one will like the ‘before’ better. When Robyn and Alejandro bought their two-bedroom condo in Brooklyn’s Columbia Waterfront District, the kitchen was in distinctly sad shape (and had, apparently, a basketball in place of a refrigerator). I’m sure it was tough to imagine this space as anything near livable, but Robyn and Alejandro had a vision for what their apartment could be.
