GCSE art final piece. Weathered locks and chains on corrugated, burnt card. Drawn with pencil and worked into with ink and then bleach.

From this image, I pick up that it is about being trapped in your own head and there's no way out. You just have to sit back and accept that you're trapped, which is how I feel about a certain amount of parental control.

Four of Portsmouth Abbey School's student artists have been awarded Gold or Silver Keys in the 2015 Rhode Island Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Of 12 entries submitted, six pieces by Luca Christian '15, Kaitlyn Doherty '17, Christine Yang '15 and Michelle Liu '15 were awarded keys. Above is Christine Yang's Gold Key-winning oil painting, titled "Against Pressure." Christine also won gold for her illustration, "Midnight Cafe" and a Silver Key for her oil painting, "Self-Portrait Safari."
