Mums are a fall staple plant and we have some mums tips to keep your blooms looking pretty all season long. Repot your mum when you get home. Mums tend to be rootbound (their roots take up the whole pot) and will last longer if you plant them in a larger pot. You will get a longer bloom if you can find a sunny spot. Make sure to keep the soil moist. Pruning your mums may extend their life. The very best thing for the health and longevity of your Mums is to repot it. I have seen all of the hacks. I’m watering and soaking and it doesn’t address the main issue. If you don’t have enough soil to retain the moisture, it’s not going to help long-term. Repotting your mum in an even slightly larger pot will help tremendously. Your mum will require much less water, and create a stronger root system should you want to plant in ground at the end of the season. Check out my Mum Care highlight bubble for all my mum tutorials. Water your fall mum daily…regardless of how you choose to water. 💧💧💧 2. Or repot your fall mum so it will stay hydrated longer between watering. Plus the roots have more room to stretch out. ⬅️🙌 You either do the work upfront to repot the fall mum, or you do it daily to keep it watered. ☀️☀️☀️ Actually, there are more options. You could just skip adding mums to your fall decor. (That’s a horrible option. 🙅‍♀️) OR your could add your mums as part of your fall aesthetic but watch them dry up in a hot minute 🔥 because you keep forgetting to go out and water them. (I’ve done this. Have you? 🤦‍♀️) Whatever Honeysuckle Jelly, Fall Mums, Second Choice, Bloom Where You Are Planted, Do The Work, Fall Aesthetic, The Roots, Stay Hydrated, The Fall
