I think I expected Sicily to have more of a distinct culture compared to mainland Italy, but frankly I found it quite similar (*cue Sicilians coming after me* haha). It's beautiful & there's a rugged coastline that's quite lovely, exceptional food, & great wine. There's plenty of gelato still, don't worry, & even though there's a lot of dialect around, you can also still speak Italian with everybody & get along just fine.
