There is a group of feminists who see trans people self-declaring their identity as a threat to women.

The argument that "trans women are not women because they have (or have had) male privilege" is problematic because it defines a person's gender identity based on their perceived social status or privilege rather than their inherent sense of self. This argument also assumes that all trans women have had male privilege, which is not always the case. Not all trans women are or were perceived as male, and not all trans women have had the same experiences or privileges as cisgender men. #quotes
