Closed terrarium , never watered it once (for a year) They create their own biosphere. You don’t want it in a very sunny spot, can burn the plants and also they grow way too fast and fill the terrarium quickly. I watered before I closed it. The layers I use are Chunky stones Activated charcoal Soil mix Then the plants are placed inside as small ones, use a long handled paintbrush 🖌 works well to flick the soil to make a hole for the plants and then flick it back to cover the roots.
