Marine heatwaves regularly co-occur with ocean acidification extremes, compounding stress on ocean life. A recently published ETH Zurich study shows where these compound extreme events occur and why they matter for ecosystems and fisheries.
A paper co-authored by Professor Florian Tramèr from the Department of Computer Science has received a Test of Time Award at this year's USENIX Security Symposium. Published in 2016, the research showed how machine learning models made available through online services can be copied by attackers. The work has had a lasting impact on AI security research and remains highly relevant today.
