With my track Hill I wanted to create a blanket of hushed tones with little details that drift.

Using sine waves I recorded two loops, I processed one of the loops through a cassette tape and then recaptured a small fragment of tape back into the mix.

Finally I doubled the playback speed of the other loop and feed this into the mix near the end of the track.

I completed Hill in a single sitting.

I acquired some old Japanese photos recently, here two photos are cut and placed onto card. You can see a hill in the photo.
