Views

I spend some time in parking lots near the Cancer Clinic and the Hospital.

My view from where I sit in a pretty much empty parking lot while I wait for Far Guy to have his radiation treatment....some days the Valet Parking is available and sometimes not.

This is backside of the hospital...the Cancer Center is the beige shorter building next to the brick building on the left.

My view from another parking lot...Far Guy gets his weekly infusion inside the Emergency Department/Infusion Center.

I drop him off at the door...run my errands and then I wait in this parking lot for him to text me so I can pick him up at the door after his infusion.  When the wind is blowing and it is way below zero the drop off/pick up service will be appreciated!

Friday was day 15 out of 20 radiation treatments.  Far Guy looks like he has a sunburn now, I encourage him to lather on the radiation cream.  He is getting more fatigued everyday.  Next week he has three treatments due to Thanksgiving....so radiation treatments will continue on into December.  Hopefully December 2nd he can ring the bell that signals the end of treatments.  Fingers and toes crossed.

  1. Yes, radiation, the gift that keeps on giving even after it is done.
I'm glad you are almost at the end too.
Hopefully December can be a nice recovery month.
Not bad views though for parking lots.

  6. FG is certainly on the downhill run with his radiation. I bet both of you will be thankful for 1 less appointment each day. Your skies make it look very crisp and cold. Brrr

  8. It even looks cold in the photos. I'm so sorry Far Guy is getting more fatigued each day, but I'm thankful the treatments are almost over. I have everything I can crossed over here. I hope you are both able to have a nice restful weekend. Big hugs!

  9. I do hope this is the end of the cancer treatments for Far Guy. I'm sure he'd be happy to get back to his appointment for the infusion only.
Not the prettiest views, but I'm sure you keep your hands busy with crocheting while you wait.

  14. The view of clouds is usually interesting, I find, unless the cloud cover is a solid gray in which case it's rather boring.

  18. I remember that it took over a year for my radiation "sun tan" to fade. I hope all of you enjoy your Thanksgiving.

  21. The bell ringing day is coming. 😊. Meanwhile I know the 100% aloe gel that the radiologists had me use when I had my treatments really helped. Now I run for the aloe for every burn. Have a good Thanksgiving.

  22. Praying every day for the two of you. Three fourths of the way done now and then the bell ringing. I had a follow-up appointment last week for the ablation at the spine doctor. The waiting room is shared with the oncology treatment center and "the Bell" is the center piece of the waiting area. Two people were able to ring it on Wednesday while I was waiting for my appointment. We all clapped and there were some tears too.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  25. My husband is familiar with the park-and-wait routine, with all the medical imaging appointments I have had in the last year. I sure hope your husband will be done with his treatments as scheduled.

  26. You wouldn't think it but radiation treatments make you very tired. I would be fine one minute and then I had to sleep, right then. Take care. The end is in sight.
