In these Sculptures Gary Hovey marries his love for Welding & Sculpting with his love for Wildlife. In his work he uses Knifes, Forks and Spoons to get the lines he needs to bring these metal animals to life. He uses old discarded cutlery because, it is plentiful and comes in colourful a varied assortment of patterns. These handmade spoon chickadees are made with hand-cut vintage teaspoons, spice spoons, and forks. These little guys are shaped by hand (bending and hammering) and welded together with an oxy/acetylene torch.
