Quicksand Flooring on Instagram: "This floor had so many gaps, some of them up to 10mm wide!! It started to become a hazard so this is how we fixed them:

First we sand all the old varnish off to start prepping the floor. Then we need to remove all the hardened, cracked old filler - using a plunge saw makes this a much easier job!

Now we start mixing up the filler - Pak Stop by Berger Seidle mixed with the matching PafukiPowder in the colour Maple/Ash/Pine to match the Baltic Pine floor. The best thing about this filler is that it stays completely FLEXIBLE allowing the boards to move with expansion and contraction. Game changing 👏🏻

It then gets evenly troweled onto the floor to fill all the gaps. Once dried (14-16hrs) it gets sanded off. We love doing these restorations where the timber floor is covered in old gunk and stain. The result is always incredible 👌🏻 This one was no different - a gorgeous Baltic Pine beauty 🙌🏻

First we sanded the old black Japan stain off with THE BIG MACHINE and went around the edges with you guessed it, THE EDGER. Punched and filled all the nail holes too. After some more sanding, buffing & vacuuming we are ready to coat. Using our incredibly popular ‘Quicksand Mix’ - Berger Seidle FlexPrimer, NordicWhite, Ceramictar 👍🏻 Beautiful.. DONE!
