1st century BC-AD 1st century (Imperial (Roman) (?))  gold, carnelian. Necklace with Child's-Head Pendant. This necklace is a pastiche. The carnelian beads are ancient and strung on modern gold links. The lion-head finials comprising the hook and eye clasp are reused from Greek earrings. The child's head boldly carved in a carnelian stone is set in a gold setting, which may or may not be ancient.
