Wow. The Mac mini M4 appeared and all of US Studio Owners, are muted?
Personally I will not trade my Studio for a Mac mini.
Maybe if need I will upgrade to the next Studio that comes out.

My Studio M2 is simply the best desktop PC I have ever had. After having used both Windows and Mac PC's, the only reason I keep a windows machine, is purely for gaming. Everything else is done on the Studio. It cost me 2 years of savings to acquire it. And By God, I am so thrilled with it. I look forward to to see if the Studio M4 or M5 will be worth the upgrade.

Patiently waiting for both a Mac Studio upgrade (with M4 Max), as well as a Studio Display upgrade.
I will then sell my current M1 Max MBP16, which has always been just a desktop replacement machine anyways and purchase both the above.

I dont need it, my current M1 Max is a high spec and is doing everything I need perfectly fine - I just want a 'desktop' setup. lol

I'll then asses whether I need my M3 MBA any further, as I suspect I won't, but may just keep it as my portable machine to use around the house.

I’m a recent convert to Mac - with my M4 Pro MBP (24GB/1TB) in November. I didn’t really know what to expect but, since I’ve begun looking into LLM, I’m also now looking ahead to a more powerful machine (with more RAM!). So I’m seriously looking out for any posts, hints, or upcoming news about the new Mac Studio. I know, based on the current model, I won’t be going for an Ultra (too pricey), but an M4 Max Studio with 96GB+ RAM is currently on my radar. There’s not much I can post about my expectations, but I’m saving up like crazy! :)

I had a hard look at the M4 Pro mini and I want the ports and the cooling and spec'ing up an M4 Pro will cost as much as an M4 Studio anyways.

My M1 Studio is doing fine too.
A friend just sold his base M1 Max Mac Studio and bought an M4 (non-Pro) Mac mini. The one drawback is he lost the 3200x1800 resolution setting for the 27” Studio Display, but he’s happy with everything else about it.

He says that the M1 Max was more than fast enough for him but nonetheless he says the M4 feels noticeably faster for some tasks. This makes sense since although multi-core speed in Geekbench is only about 10% faster, single-core speed is about 55% faster.

Note that he doesn’t need GPU performance for his work, so the GPU advantage of the Mac Studio is irrelevant to him.

I did think his “upgrade” to the M4 was strange, but he ended up saving a bit of money in the process since he sold his used Mac Studio for more money than he paid for the M4 Mac mini. This would not have been true if he had gotten the M4 Pro.

I'm still happily using my M1 Studio... but I plan on upgrading to the M4 the moment it becomes available. I hadn't planned on it, but I have an M4 MacBook Pro and the speed increase is quite noticeable.

Agree with the others, out of all the computers I've owned, my M1 Max Mac Studio has been my least problematic machine and it's still more than enough for my graphic design and video editing needs. However, I will likely jump over to the M4 Max or Ultra Studio as I want to do more 3D animation. M1 Max has been fine for short and simple scenes but the rendering times do start to get a bit long with more complex and longer animations.
