Hello,

I've acquired a Mac G5 with PCIE lanes. I would like to hold on to OSX 10.4 due to Classic support. However when porting DarkPlaces engine, I've noticed that this could a lot of effort for the GeForce 6600 the Mac came with. I've read some articles online where apparently GeForce 7800 GTX is the last supported for OSX Tiger, but I can't find the drivers. Ideally I'd like to step down to 7600 GT in order to maintain fanless operations.

What GPUs were supported on OSX Tiger?
Where can I find the drivers for them?

Especially the drivers - I can't find CUDA 1.x drivers online anymore which would be some indication of support for at least GeForce 8000 series. nVidia offers CUDA 2.x drivers, but they only support OSX 10.5 :/ Does anyone have any clues? Any help please?

nvidia 8800 series works on tiger but only in the intel version with the drivers from the 2007 imac restore cd. in powerpc, you can go up to nvidia 7800 series or the quadro equivalent (quadro fx 4500). sadly, these are very expensive on ebay nowadays.
