Has anyone succeeded in finding any third party drivers (and possibly associated hardware) that can add USB 3.0 support to Mac OS X (Sorbet) Leopard?

No one has reported an attempt to port GenericUSBXHCI.kext source code from newer macOS (10.7) to older macOS (10.5).
PCI or PCI-X Macs require a PCI or PCI-X to PCIe bridge to connect a USB XHCI PCIe card. Such bridges are generally only available at 32 bit, 33 MHz (133 MB/s).

There may be faster bridge chips but products that use them are rare and not generally available.
