about

Lightsplinter

The theme behind this EP is overcoming challenges and embracing new beginnings. This year has been a difficult one, filled with new obstacles and uncertainty. I wanted to capture the feeling of hope that arises when facing adversity, while still maintaining a positive outlook towards the future.

The story follows the forging of a sword made of light, created to battle against the lingering darkness in Lightsplitter Cave.

Doves: A symbol of renewal. Birds are sent to nearby villages to gather allies for the coming descent into the abyss, where an unknown nightmare waits below. Their flight carries the promise of what could become, the calm before the storm.

Assemblage: Sparks fly as steel meets flame. A sword is forged, made of white hot light, a magical blade born of unity and resolve, Lightsplinter. Its edge tempered by courage and the will to face what lies ahead.

Frenzy: Chaos reigns as light and shadow collide. Within the cave, the soldiers confront the nightmare head-on, a writhing void of fear and memory. Each strike echoing through the dark as soldiers advance.

Lightsplinter: The final battle. Our hero, the light-bearing warrior wielding Lightsplinter, meets the eyes of the void. They clash, bash, brawl, and crawl, each strike igniting the walls of the abyssal plane. With a final blow to the heart, the darkness erupts, and light floods the tomb. The battle is won, and from the fracture, a new sun rises.
