About
This is a community package of Stoat, maintained independently. It repackages the official upstream build unmodified and uses the same app id as upstream's own Flatpak build.
Stoat (formerly Revolt) is an open source, user-first chat platform. Join communities, send messages, share images, mention people and talk in voice channels from a native desktop application.
- Servers with text and voice channels, direct messages and group chats.
- Voice and video calls with screen sharing.
- Notifications, an unread badge in the tray, and Discord-style rich presence.
- Works with stoat.chat or a self-hosted instance.
Permissions follow upstream's own Flatpak build: network, audio, the camera and other devices for calls, PipeWire for screen sharing, read-only access to Pictures and Videos for attachments, and Downloads for saving files. Other files can still be attached through the file chooser.
