Moses statue

Tomb of Pope Julius II, by Michelangelo Buonarotti, inside the church of San Pietro in Vincoli (Saint Peter in Chains), Rome, Italy. The horns are due to a medieval mistranslation of the book of Exodus. Instead of "emitting rays", many versions of the Bible (including, evidently, Michelangelo's copy) had Moses' head "growing fully-developed horns". See where this picture was taken. [?]
