Susan Isherwood - 𝘾𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙘 𝘼𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙨𝙩 on Instagram: "This is a pot I made a couple of years ago. 🌸

When I first posted it I described how I was going to plant an orchid in it and how I had designed it with holes in it because orchids love good drainage. They usually grow in the branches of trees in the wild.

I planted one Phalinopsis orchid in it and it was so happy, it started to grow roots all over the place - in and out of the drainage holes and stuck to the sides. Then it grew a second orchid plant which will flower in the coming years. 💕

One of my followers, who has been a follower for many years, commented on the original post that they'd like to see it with an orchid in it. 👀

Astrid Wilk on Instagram: "Making my Phalaenopsis Orchid for „Urban Blooms“ 2024 Miniature Flower Show in NY. My specialty: I make the leaf and flower patterns for all of my miniature plants from colored oven-hardening polymer clay using the cane technique. I stack different colored clay together to form patterns and reduce the size to a few mm. This makes very delicate and realistic patterns possible. But it also takes some practice and a lot of patience. The stem is made of floral wire and the pot is made by me from transparent resin. I really wanted a transparent pot for the orchids. The nursing pots fit perfectly into the orchid planters. All parts have magnets to attach to each other and my custom made wooden shelves. Handmade, intricately pierced porcelain orchid vases. These are wheel-thrown vessels that are altered and carved into what I call my Royal Palms design. They are glazed mostly on the inside using a special handmade Japanese brush and then I clean every negative (cut out) space to remove the glaze which, when fired, is a beautiful blue-green celadon. The outsides are left naked in the pure white porcelain. Since each pot is made and carved by hand, each vessel is unique. The vases shown here…
