PROJECT: KLAUS Netflix THE SPA STUDIOS Directed by: Sergio Pablos Art Direction by: The incredible Szymon Biernacki and Marcin Jakubowski Here is what I was able to get my hands of the early Visual development and concept work I did on Klaus. We were encouraged to work in grayscale a lot in the early days, since we had a fairly short pre-production phase, and we knew the color-script guys would be re-working a lot of that anyways.

Doing a comic with fully painted backgrounds got me thinking why the fuck am I painting all the backgrounds so this was a quick little exercise to try with a more line-heavy style :B
